About these terms
These terms apply to your use of biztooldesk.com (“BizToolDesk”, “we”, “us”): the calculators, the downloadable templates and the articles and software guides. By using the site you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
What the site provides
BizToolDesk offers free business calculators, templates you fill in and download as PDF, Word, Excel or CSV files, and guides to small-business software. There is no account, subscription or fee. Tools run in your browser, and some need JavaScript to work. We may add, change or remove tools and content, and we don't guarantee the site will always be available or free of interruptions.
Information only, not professional advice
Calculators, templates and articles are general information and education. They are not accounting, tax, payroll, legal, lending or financial advice, and using them doesn't create a professional relationship with us. Results depend on the inputs you give and on simplifying assumptions that each tool explains on its page. For decisions with legal, tax or financial consequences, such as running payroll, filing a return, signing a loan or issuing a contract, check the result with a qualified professional or the official source.
Tax rates and other figures
Tax tables and rates are labelled with the year they apply to and cite the official publication they came from. Governments change rates, thresholds and rules, sometimes mid-year, and local rules vary. We update the tables when new figures are published, but there can be a delay, and some calculators show a notice when a table hasn't been fully checked. Vendor prices and plan limits in our software guides are as of the date shown on each guide and can change without notice; confirm them with the vendor before buying.
Your responsibilities
- You are responsible for the information you enter and for checking documents before you send or rely on them.
- You are responsible for meeting the legal requirements that apply to your business and documents, such as what an invoice must show in your country or state, record-keeping rules and employment law.
- Don't use the site to create documents that are fraudulent, misleading or unlawful.
- Don't interfere with the site: no attempts to disrupt it, overload it, probe it for vulnerabilities without permission, or scrape it at a volume that degrades it for others.
Templates and the files you create
You may use the templates and the documents you make with them for your own business, including sending them to your clients and suppliers. The content you type is yours. Downloaded files carry a small BizToolDesk credit. You may not resell, sublicense or redistribute the blank templates, the generators or the site's content as your own product or service.
Third-party links and advertising
Guides link to other companies' websites, and the site may show advertising from third parties. We don't control those sites, products or ads and aren't responsible for them. Mentioning a product isn't an endorsement by that company, and no company mentioned has approved our guides. Names and trademarks belong to their owners.
Intellectual property
The site's text, design, code and template layouts are protected by copyright and belong to the operator of BizToolDesk unless stated otherwise. You may quote short passages with a link back to the page.
No warranty
We work to keep the tools correct and test the calculations against worked examples, but the site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including that results are accurate, complete or suitable for your situation, to the extent the law allows.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site, its tools or files made with them, including tax penalties, underpaid or overpaid wages, pricing decisions, lost profits or lost data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or any rights you have as a consumer that can't be waived.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and using the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
