Summary
- You don't need an account, and we don't ask for your name, email or payment details to use any tool.
- Calculators and templates run in your browser. The figures, names and addresses you type are not sent to us. Files you download are generated on your device.
- Some data is processed by the services that run the site: our host (Cloudflare). Each is described below.
What we don't collect
We don't run user accounts, sign-up forms, comment sections or newsletters, and we don't sell personal information. The numbers you enter in a calculator and the details you type into a template stay on your device unless you choose to share the file you download.
Hosting and server logs
BizToolDesk is a static website served by Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, Cloudflare processes technical information about each request, such as your IP address, browser user agent, the page requested, the referring page and the time. Cloudflare gives us aggregated traffic statistics (for example, number of requests and visitor countries); we don't run our own servers and don't keep our own access logs. Cloudflare's handling of this data is described in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
Fonts are served from our own domain, so loading a page doesn't send requests to a font service.
Information stored in your browser
We use your browser's local storage, not cookies, for two conveniences:
- Theme choice. If you switch between light and dark mode, the choice is saved under the key
biztooldesk:theme. - Template drafts. The invoice, estimate, quote, receipt, purchase order, timesheet, expense tracker, balance sheet and profit and loss templates save what you type so a reload doesn't lose your work.
This data stays on your device and is never sent to us. You can remove it with the template's reset or start-over control, or by clearing this site's data in your browser settings. Calculators don't store your inputs.
Analytics
We don't currently run an analytics script. If we add one, we will describe it here before it goes live.
Advertising and cookies
BizToolDesk doesn't show ads yet, and neither we nor any third party set cookies on this site. We plan to show ads from Google AdSense in future. Before that happens, this section will be updated to explain the cookies and identifiers Google and its partners use, how to opt out of personalised ads, and the consent choices offered to visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland.
Links to other websites
Our guides link to software vendors' pricing pages and to official sources such as the IRS. Those sites have their own privacy policies. These links are not affiliate links: we aren't paid when you click them or buy something. If we ever add affiliate links, we will label them and update this policy first.
When you email us
If you write to hello@biztooldesk.com, Cloudflare Email Routing forwards your message to our mailbox. We use your address and message only to reply and to fix any problem you report, and we delete the correspondence when it is no longer needed for that purpose.
Your choices and rights
Because we don't hold accounts or profiles, the only personal information we hold about you directly is an email you send us. You can ask us to see or delete it by emailing us. Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in the EU and UK, or under US state privacy laws) you may have further rights over data processed by Cloudflare, which you can exercise with them directly using the links above.
Children
BizToolDesk is meant for adults running or working in a business. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
We update this page whenever how we handle data changes, for example before adding analytics or advertising, and change the date at the top.
